4. Register first, then bid - In order to bid for objects with Vessel Auction you must register first. Register now. back
5. A bid placed is unconditional and irrevocable (Cf. General Terms and Conditions). In principle the person who has placed the high bid at the end of the auction will automatically be the purchaser, and has the obligation to pay and take delivery. back
6. After registration or logging in you can place bids, which can be done in two ways: "normal bid" or an "auto bid". The bid placed by you must always be higher than the current high bid. The minimum increase of a bid is determined by the bid increments as used by Vessel Auction.
Note! If a bid is made for a lot five minutes before it is due to close, the opening time is extended by five minutes! Closing auction? Keep on refreshing your webpage (F5 key).

7. Normal bid; your bid must always be higher than the current high bid, Vessel Auction uses predetermined bid increments for each minimum bid increase. In case of an opening bid it is advisable to place at least the opening bid. An unreasonably low bid may be cancelled. A bid placed by you is unconditional and irrevocable. Please Cf. the General Terms and Conditions.
PLEASE NOTE: after 10 minutes users are logged out if not active, this is to ensure the safety of an account.
8. Auto bid; in case of an auto bid you enter the maximum amount of your bid for the object concerned. Vessel Auction will increase the bid by the minimum bid increase. If a higher bid is entered, Vessel Auction will automatically place a new bid for you.
The increased bid will be the minimum bid increase in accordance with the bid increments. A bid placed by you is unconditional and irrevocable. Please Cf. the General Terms and Conditions.
Example: Suppose you are Bidder A and you place a bid of €100. Bidder B places a normal bid of €85. The auction system automatically increases your bid by € 10 according to the bid increments as they apply, and your auto bid will be € 95. Next, Bidder C places a bid in the amount of €99. Because the bid increments increase an auto bid by €10 the amount will exceed your auto bid, namely €109. From that point on you are no longer the high bidder in the auction, but Bidder C is. After that you may outbid Bidder C by placing a higher bid.
PLEASE NOTE: after 10 minutes users are logged out if not active, this is to ensure the safety of an account.
9. The amount of the bid is exclusive of auction cost (surcharge) and BTW (Dutch VAT). Vessel Auction charges variable auction costs which may differ for each auction. For 2009 the variable percentage of the auction costs is a minimum rate of 4,0% and a maximum rate of 16,0 %. This percentage is clearly specified at each auction.
After the auction ends invoices are sent for the objects purchased, unless they are subject to a reservation on the part of a bankruptcy judge or the principal. If the object is granted to the purchaser, he or she is obliged to settle the invoice prior to the collection date. The final date for payment is specified in the invoice. Collecting objects: the objects purchased will not be released until the entire amount of the invoice has been paid, and only on the collection date, location and time as specified.

12. Transport by Vessel Auction is not possible.
13. Changing profile - Under 'My information' you will find all information completed by you during your registration. Here you can always modify this information such as your password and address information. You can access your profile after you have logged in at the web site.
14. Following objects - In the ‘My objects' segment of ‘My information' you will find your own summary of objects in which you are interested at the moment, and for which you are one of the bidders. From this summary you can simply keep track of all developments in connection with the objects you are interested in, and you can directly place bids for these objects. ‘My objects' ensures that you do not have to check the individual object pages.
Once you have placed a bid for an object, this object is automatically added to the summary.
You can also keep track of developments in connection with the objects offered in the categories, by checking ‘place alert' above each category. Next, identify the category you wish to track. That is only possible if you have registered and logged in.
15. Invoice Summary - On the page 'My Invoices' in 'My Summary' you will find all invoices which you have or will have to settle. After purchasing one or more objects in an auction the invoice concerned will be added to the list. After payment the status is changed in 'Paid'.
16. Yes, use the link 'password forgotten' and you will receive an new validation link by email. If you do know the old password, you log in and change the old password into the new one. Please do not forget to repeat the new password in order to verify it.
17. You may have failed to use the validation email. Please validate your account before attempting to log in and use Vessel Auction. If you need assistance, please contact us.
18. That is possible but not advisable. In most cases the opening bid is determined by or with the principal (and/or appraiser). The principal will ultimately grant or reject the high bid.
Please note: if your bid appears to be unreasonably low given the opening bid your bid will be directly cancelled on the basis of article 10.5 (General Terms and Conditions of Vessel Auction).
