What is Vessel Auction?
Vessel Auction is an online auction house for boats. Vessel Auction specializes in the organisation of online auctions (on average 165 per year) for pleasure yachts, super yachts and ships. An average of 91 % of the boats are actually sold within 2, 3 or 4 weeks. Vessel Auction is a Register Auctioneer Ships & Pleasure Yachts (Federation of Valuers, Brokers and Auctioneers in Movable Goods).

How does Vessel Auction work?
The term of the auction is 2, 3, or 4 weeks. Boats are directly brought to the attention of thousands of registered bidders. After the inspection day the online auction is closed. Each bid is irrevocable and unconditional. The client has the final decision whether the boat is or is not sold to the high bidder. The auction costs are paid by the buyer; the seller only pays an auction fee. A boat is sold in the condition it is at the time that the bid is awarded ("as is where is"). Each boat auction is supervised by the Groenewegen & Partners bailiff firm.

Irrevocable and unconditional bids
A well-established bailiff firm is responsible for the official supervision of the online auctions of Vessel Auction. The bailiff firm checks whether the auction process takes place in accordance with the rules, and draws up a protocol of each online auction. the bidder who has entered the high bid at the end of the auction term, is obliged to purchase the vessel, unless the client does not award the high bid.
